River Stars and Four Stars won ONEFA tourney

WINDHOEK, 17 JUN (NAMPA) - Revia-based River Stars and Four Stars from Omitivine won the football and netball competitions respectively of the seventh Omongua Netball Football Association (ONEFA) at the Kututura Youth Complex on Sunday.
The tournament attracted 15 football and 15 netball teams.
In the first netball semi-final match, Ongoro ja Mutumbondundu defeated their counterparts Otjeue City 22-13.
Four Stars overcame Okumu-based Fire Eyes 28- 17 in the second semi-final and Four Stars then won the competition after they defeated Ongoro ja Mutumbondundu 27-12 in the final.
Then Omitivine-based team took home N. dollars 2 000, a trophy and 12 gold medals.
Ongoro ja Mutumbondundu pocketed N. dollars 1 000, along with 12 silver medals as the runners up, while Fire Eyes and Otjeue City each took home N. dollars 750 as losing semi-finalists.
In the football category, Revia overcame Running Stars from Okombepera 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw in the first semi-final.
In the second semi-final, Otjorukune-based Super Eagle overpowered Otjikango United 2-1.
River Stars then won the final, defeating Super Eagle 4-3 on penalties after a goalless draw to pocket N.dollars 3 500, a trophy and 20 gold medals.
Super Eagle took home N. dollars 2 000 and 20 silver medals as runners up, while Otjikango United and Running Stars each pocked N. dollars 750 as the losing semi-finalists.
Okumu-based Fire Eyes won the football competition last year, while Four Stars were the defending champion in the netball category.
