Kavango West netball league underway

RUNDU, 11 JUN (NAMPA) – The Kavango West Netball Regional League’s first season started on Saturday, with six teams from the region competing.
These teams are International University of Management (IUM), Kahenge Chelsea, Panado Senior, Panado Junior, Rupara City and Namibian Police Force (NamPol), League Chairperson Isa Saidi told Nampa on Tuesday.
IUM played against Kahenge Chelsea and won the game by 25 points to 18.
Panado Senior was paired with Panado Junior and the seniors lost the game 08-33.
Rupara City competed against NamPol and won by 43 points to 11.
After beating Kahenge Chelsea, IUM played against Rupara City and won by 37 points to 11, whilst Kahenge Chelsea had to face Panado Junior and won 23-22.
Saidi said a total of N.dollars 15 000 in cash prizes are at stake, while winning teams will also receive balls to use during practice and matches.
The chairperson games are played at Kahenge every two weeks as some teams, such as Rupara City, are from outside Nkurenkuru.
The league will end in November.
