Tourists robbed at Kalahari Red Dune Lodge

WINDHOEK, 10 JUN (NAMPA) – Two tourists were robbed of their personal belongings in their room at the Kalahari Red Dune Lodge in Kalkrand on Saturday.
The police said in the weekly crime report issued on Monday they are investigating a case of housebreaking with intent to steal and theft after three unknown suspects broke into the room of the two German nationals, both aged 54, while they were asleep around 01h00.
“One suspect armed with a stick demanded money, but one of the tourists stormed at them. Another suspect grabbed the victims’ property which was in the lounge area and ran out with the others,” the crime report said.
The stolen property includes two backpacks, two passports, a black Canon camera, an Olympus camera, a power bank, three camera lenses, a pair of prescription sunglasses, two ATM cards, an iPhone 8 and cash - US.dollars 60; 230 Euro and N.dollars 2 900.
Some of the items, including the sunglasses, ATM cards and passports were recovered.
Police investigations continue.
