WMC hosts successful national circuit event

WINDHOEK, 09 JUN (NAMPA) – The Windhoek Motor Club (WMC) hosted a successful third leg of its National Circuit and Karting Championship over the weekend at the Tony Rust Race Track.
The third leg saw riders from the coastal towns of Swakompund and Walvis Bay putting their trusty race cars through their paces against their Windhoek counterparts.
The karting category showcased the skills of the best of the best from the coastal karting club against the Khomas Region’s finest.
In the karting races, Jaydrique Rhodes had an impressive ride as he won the Maxterino category, while Jadyn van Zyl came second and Mario Neves finished third.
In the Junior Max category, Guido Bidoli won the race, while Christiaan Liebenberg Jnr came second and Lo-Andre Bruwer third.
In the Senior Max category, Ivan Voster finished first and Gerhard Breed second.
Meanwhile, the circuit racing saw father and son dominating the Clubman Class B category when Allan Martin finished first while his son Zachary Martin came second and Michel Rust finished in third spot.
In the Class D category, Richard Slamet Jnr walked away with the silverware, while the Class E category saw Clive Strydom and Charlton Morkel finishing first and second respectively.
In the Class F category, Buks Viviers finished first, while André Havenga and Keith Hammerslag came second and third respectively.
Cornelius Baggerman walked away with the silverware in the Class X category.
The next go-karting event will be held at the Swakopmund Race Track on 29 June, while the fourth leg of the circuit and karting race will be held in Windhoek on 03 August 2019.
