OTJIWARONGO, 11 JAN (NAMPA) - A Grootfontein-based dentist allegedly shot himself with a pistol on Friday, and died on Saturday in Windhoek’s Mediclinic.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol)’s Otjozondjupa Regional Public Relations Officer, Sergeant Maureen Mbeha confirmed the shooting incident to Nampa on Saturday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as a 60-year-old Herbert Coston.

Mbeha said Coston had travelled from his residence to the Grootfontein Private Hospital on Friday morning.
“There he got out of his vehicle, sat on the pavement, and shot himself in the head with a 7.8 mm pistol. He shot himself through the right ear. The bullet penetrated the head and exited through the left ear,” Mbeha said.
Coston was declared brain dead on Friday. He was, however, later flown to the Mediclinic in the capital, but died there on Saturday morning.
