Man allegedly commits suicide at Okakarara

OTJIWARONGO, 02 JUN (NAMPA) - A 33-year-old man on Saturday allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope at a village outside Okakarara in the Otjozondjupa Region.

Namibian Police Force’s regional crime investigations coordinator, Deputy Commissioner, Naukalemo Andreas in an interview with Nampa on Sunday said the deceased has been identified as Haipinge Josef Kamundulenge.

Andreas said Kamundulenge was found hanging from a tree by a passer-by on Saturday morning at about 11h30 in the bushes of the Ohakane village in the Okakarara District.

“The deceased left a suicide note and his close relatives have been already informed of it,” she said, adding that no foul play is suspected.

An inquest docket has been opened at the Okakarara Police Station.

Police investigations continue.
