Brave Warriors beat Seychelles to finish second in Group B

WINDHOEK, 31 MAY (NAMPA) – Namibia’s national senior football team, the Brave Warriors beat Seychelles 3-0 in their final Group B game on Thursday, to finish second in the group with six points.
Namibia registered two wins (against Mozambique and Seychelles) and one loss to eventual group winner Malawi at the Council of Southern Africa Football Associations (Cosafa) Cup 2019 underway in South Africa.
According to the Namibia Football Association (NFA) on its website, the Brave Warriors’ goals on Thursday came from Life Fighters striker and top goal scorer in the Namibia Premier League for the 2018/2019 season, Isaskar Gurirab scoring two goals and Sadney Urikhob adding the third at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaMashu, Durban.
Despite the win and finishing second in the group, the Brave Warriors are eliminated from the Cosafa 2019 competition as only the winner, Malawi, advance to the quarterfinal.
Namibia scored a total number of six goals and conceded three.
Some Namibian players will now head to the High Performance Centre in Pretoria to join 17 other players called up by head coach Ricardo Mannetti for the African Cup of Nations (Afcon) training camp. The tournament kicks off in Egypt on 21 June.
