WINDHOEK, 28 MAY (NAMPA) – A 23-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her partner in a shack at Windhoek’s Ombili informal settlement on Sunday.
The alleged murder was confirmed by the Inspector General of the Namibian Police Force, Sebastian Ndeitunga, in an interview with Nampa on Tuesday, in which he said the 32-year-old suspect allegedly stabbed Anna Naliyele Ekandjo after she told him that their romantic relationship was over.
“The man and the deceased are employees of the G4S security company,” Ndeitunga said.
The incident occurred around 21h15. The suspect, who has two children with the deceased, allegedly used a knife and axe to cut and stab the victim to death before locking the body in the shack and fleeing the scene.
“The suspect then informed his family via text message on Monday that he killed the deceased, locked her body in his shack and directed them where to find the keys to his shack,” Ndeitunga explained.
The suspect handed himself over to the Wanaheda Police Station on Monday at about 12h00.
The deceased’s next of kin have been informed of her death.
