WINDHOEK, 09 JAN (NAMPA) A Windhoek resident has thanked the City Police and Namibian Police Force for their swift action in getting his 60 inch flat-screen television back, minutes after it was stolen on Wednesday evening.
I just woke up to the news this morning that the police have recovered my flat-screen television, said victim Thaddius Maswahu.
He told Nampa on Thursday that he was asleep inside his home in the Kleine Kuppe residential area of the capital, and was not sure how the thieves got in or at what time.
City Police officers told Nampa that three men broke into Maswahu's home and stole a television valued at around N.dollars 24 000, an Ipad, a leather handbag, two coolers and a mobile phone.
They got away in a taxi, but were seen by security guards from a local security company who were on duty, and alerted the police.
The taxi driver was arrested, and the suspects have been positively identified. We are closing in on them, said City Police Chief Abraham Kanime.
The television screen and other items were recovered behind a zoo in Kleine Kuppe.
