Tura Magic and Julinho Sporting keep top eight dreams alive

WINDHOEK, 19 MAY (NAMPA) - Tura Magic Football Club are on the verge of finishing third on the MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL) log standing after defeating their closest rival Life Fighters 2-1 on Saturday afternoon.

Tura Magic travelled to Otjiwarongo to face Life Fighters, who were just a point behind them and had a game in hand. Life Fighters were on 40 points while Tura Magic were on 41 points.

On Saturday, Tura Magic opened the scoring through their Ghanaian player Safo Klifi but Kleopas Useb of Life Fighters cancelled their lead with his goal for the home team.

With the match approaching the 90 minute mark, Uetuura Kambato made it 2-1 for Tura Magic in the 85th minute.

Life Fighters, who still have a game in hand, will now have to turn their attention to their game against UNAM FC at the Mokati Stadium in Otjiwarongo on Thursday.

UNAM FC, who on 38 points with three games to still play in the 2018/19 MTC NPL season, are also on the hunt for the top four finish this season.

Tura Magic will face relegation threatened Civics also on Thursday in their quest to attain a top four spots.

In another match that was played on Saturday at the Rundu Sports Stadium, Rundu-based Julinho Sporting drew 0-0 against Eleven Arrows.

The draw meant Julinho remain eighth on the log with 35 points, while Eleven Arrows, who have a game in hand are ninth on the log standing with 32 points.

Eleven Arrows will face Okahandja United and Life Fighters in their match 26 and 27 fixtures respectively.
