Man dies after being run over in Swakopmund

WINDHOEK, 08 JAN (NAMPA) – The Swakopmund Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after a 32-year-old man was run over by another man who he had been arguing with on Saturday.
Detective Inspector Erastus Iikwiyu of the Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Erongo Region told Nampa in a telephonic interview on Wednesday Stanley Katjatako got involved in an argument with Donald John Isaacs at the DRC informal settlement in the coastal town.
Katjatako allegedly threw a stone at Isaacs' car before running away.
Iikwiyu explained that Isaacs then drove after Katjatako and allegedly ran him over, breaking his ribs. He also sustained head injuries.
He was rushed to the Swakopmund State Hospital and transferred to the Katutura State Hospital on Sunday, where he died on the same day.
Iikwiyu said the reasons for the squabble are not known.
Isaacs was charged with culpable homicide and appeared in court on Monday.
Katjatako's next of have been informed and police investigations continue.
