Tobias Hainyeko Garrison receives sport donation

WINDHOEK, 14 MAY (NAMPA) – Namibian Defence Force (NDF) members at 211 Infantry Battalion (Inf Bn) based at Tobias Hainyeko Garrison in Windhoek received a sponsorship of sport items from Nedbank Namibia here on Tuesday.
The sponsorship worth over N.dollars 50 000 was handed over by Head of SME Business, Nelson Simasiku to 211 Bn to kick-start a mini-league scheduled for 22 May 2019 at the Windhoek Technical High School.
The event will include football, volleyball, netball and pool.
Simasiku informed the military personnel that Nedbank is a keen supporter of sports in the country.
“We would like to encourage the members of NDF to actively participate in the mini-league to keep fit, disciplined and strong,” he said.
General Officer Commanding 21 Motorised Infantry Brigade, Brigadier General Erastus Kashopola and Commanding Officer of 211 Bn, Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Jose, who thanked Nedbank, also attended the handover event.
The sponsored items include trophies, balls, medals, bags and sport gear for the sport codes.
