Man dies after being stabbed at Grootfontein

OTJIWARONGO, 12 MAY (NAMPA) - A 20-year-old man died in the early hours of Sunday after being stabbed at Grootfontein.
The spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha told Nampa on Sunday that the deceased has been identified by relatives as Raphael Amutjakala.
Preliminary police investigations indicate that Amutjakala was seen at a bar with his friends on Saturday night. While on his way home alone, he was attacked and stabbed in the chest with a sharp object by an unknown person.
“Amutjakala was declared dead on arrival at the Grootfontein State Hospital,” Mbeha said.
The incident occurred between 01h00 and 02h00 in Dr Sam Nujoma Avenue.
No arrests have been made so far and police investigations continue.
