WINDHOEK, 09 MAY (NAMPA) Happydu maintained their perfect start to the Central Volleyball Association (CVA) league campaign after defeating Spartans 3-0 at the Deutscher Turn-Und Sportverein (DTS) on Wednesday evening.
The victory was the Windhoek-based teams fourth consecutive win of the season, keeping them atop the CVA league table with 8 points.
They dominated the game and ensured that their opponents had no chance of coming back into the game.
Spartans, on the other hand, made many errors and were no match for the energetic Happydu team that kept scoring point after point, exposing their weaknesses.
Speaking to Nampa immediately after the match, Happydu player, Stefanus Kangandjera said the morale behind the highly energised team is good and that they have been dedicated to training, which should send a stern warning to the other teams in the league.
I just want to say to our next opponents that Happydu is ready for the challenge, he said.
Also speaking to Nampa, Spartans Marc Viljoen attributed the teams errors to misunderstandings from his teams players.
We failed to understand each other and as result we gave away the game but we will bounce back from this as we will train more to fix this, said Viljoen.
In other results, Nampower won their encounter with NUST 3-0, while KNVC defeated NDF A 3-0.
Happydus perfect start will be put to the test in their next match, when they face KNVC at the same venue of Saturday.
Happydu remain top of the league with 8 points, followed by UNAM with 7 points, while Nampower and KNVC occupy the third and fourth positions respectively, both with 3 points.
