Haivera elected APP regional chairperson

RUNDU, 06 MAY (NAMPA) – Marcellus Haivera was on Saturday elected the new Kavango East Chairperson of the All People’s Party (APP) after acting in that position since 2014.
Haivera was elected unopposed during the regional elective conference which also saw Sindimba Ladislaus being elected as his deputy.
Nkumbwa Ambrosius was elected as regional secretary, with Irma Sikongo as his vice-secretary.
Josef Shikukutu took the position of treasurer, whilst Dindo Benedictus became the new mobiliser, Pius Kalipa as his deputy.
The position of secretary for community projects went to Indira Steven, whilst the additional members are, Nyumburu Malawi, Mukuve Marcellus Mudumbi, Crisentia Mukena, and David Ndumba.
Haivera told Nampa on Monday that as the newly elected regional chairperson, he urges all newly elected leaders to be humble and make sure the party scores more votes in the upcoming elections.
“People do not eat flags and slogans. They eat food. Thus, we must work tirelessly to solve their problems,” he said.
The regional chairperson further called on government, as well as the private sector, to seriously look into the devastating drought the country is going through and assist those citizens that are most hard hit.
