Welwitschias thrashed by Blue Bulls

WINDHOEK, 05 MAY (NAMPA) - The Welwitschias lost their second match of the 2019 SuperSport Rugby Challenge 87-21 against the Vodacom Blue Bulls at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria, South Africa on Saturday.
Namibia’s senior rugby team, who lost their opening match of the challenge last week against Golden Lions at the Hage Geingob Stadium, only managed to score three tries on Saturday.
The Welwitschias’ three tries came from Oderich Mouton, Jan Booysen and Leneve Damens, while Cliven Loubser and Pieter Steenkamp scored the conversions.
The Blue Bulls ran in 13 tries and converted 11 times from the spot.
With their second defeat in the SuperSport Rugby Challenge, the Namibian team is bottom of their eight-team north group on zero points.
Tafel Lager Griquas are top of the group but level on 10 points with Xerox Golden Lions XV and iCOLLEGE Pumas, who are second and third respectively.
The Welwitschias will play their next match, at home against the Griquas, on 11 May at 14h00.
