WINDHOEK, 02 MAY (NAMPA) – The President of Guinea, Alpha Condé, will be in Namibia on a two-day State visit next week.
A media statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology on Thursday said Condé will be in Namibia on 08 and 09 May.
During his state visit to Guinea last year, President Hage Geingob signed four agreements which included the Framework Agreement for Cooperation, the Agreement on the Establishment of a Joint Commission, a Memorandum of Understanding on Political and Diplomatic Cooperation and MoU on reciprocal exemptions of visas for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
The two states further agreed on the necessity to cooperate closely in the maritime sector and port operations to harness opportunities from the blue economy for accelerated youth empowerment and employment creation.
Geingob emphasised agriculture and food security in the bilateral talks, saying Namibia had an unsustainable import bill in agricultural products.
He also shared converging views with Condé on the need for Africans to solve their own problems and for the two countries to deepen cooperation, particularly in agriculture and mining.
