WINDHOEK, 28 APR (NAMPA) – The Ministry of Home Affairs and Immigration has introduced speed point devices at its head office in Windhoek.
This is according to a media statement issued by the ministry’s Executive Director, Etienne Maritz.
He said the introduction of the new speed point machines comes in an effort to discourage the public from carrying around large sums of money to pay for lost, damaged or new documents, as a safety precaution.
“The Electronic Payment Transfers and use of point-of-sale devices are regarded as secure alternate payment methods,” stated Maritz.
The ministry also aims to implement this activity at all its regional offices countrywide.
