OTJIWARONGO, 27 APR (NAMPA) - The Otjozondjupa police are calling on the public to assist in identifying a man believed to have committed suicide near the B1 road in the Okahandja District Friday morning.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha told Nampa on Saturday the body was found approximately 33 kilometres north of Okahandja by workers contracted to clean the area.
“They spotted the body hanging from a tree and alerted the police,” said Mbeha.
It is suspected that the man might have committed suicide Thursday night as preliminary police investigations found that he was seen looking for employment in Okahandja Thursday afternoon.
No suicide note was found and no foul play is suspected thus far in connection with the incident, Mbeha said.
Police investigations continue.
