WINDHOEK, 25 APR (NAMPA) – A gospel concert which organisers say they hope will unite Namibians, is planned for Windhoek’s Zoo Park on 03 August 2019.
The Heal Our Land Concert was launched here on Wednesday and will feature gospel musicians such as Manda Gabriel, Vocal Motion Six (VMSIX) and South Africa’s Dumi Mkokstad and Zaza Mokhethi.
Gabriel came up with the idea for the concert and got support from other artists, event director Ndilimeke Nambinga said during the launch.
Nambinga said over the years, Namibia has seen an increase in domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancies, passion killings and other crimes.
“The Heal Our Land Concert was birthed to educate and remind people of the love of God and that it is able to help conquer social evils,” she said.
She further said through the concert, they hope to unite people from different walks of life regardless of religious affiliation, age and gender through music in order to bring about social change.
