WINDHOEK, 05 JAN (NAMPA) – A 27-year-old woman is fighting for her life at the Medi-City clinic in Windhoek after three unknown suspects shot her in the stomach Sunday morning.
According to the Namibian Police Force’s (NamPol) Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi, three suspects broke into the Blueberry flats in Diamant Street in Khomasdal and entered a flat where a man and his girlfriend Tete Kanguatjivi were sleeping.
The victim, Tete Kanguatjivi, woke up after hearing the noise in the flat and went to investigate, upon which she found the three suspects.
She put up a fierce fight with the suspects, and in the commotion she was shot by one of the suspects who then fled the scene.
The two remaining suspects stole two laptops and two cell phones before they too left the scene hastily.
No arrests have been made and police investigations continue.
Another case of housebreaking and theft was also reported on Sunday morning at the Ark Trading complex after three unknown suspects broke into the premises by disconnecting the security alarm.
The suspects then removed the aluminium glass door to gain access to the inside.
“The suspects cut the safe open with an unknown object, as well as a Bank Windhoek ATM machine which was inside the premises and took an unknown amount of money,” he said.
Kanguatjivi could not provide details of any other items that were removed from the safe.
