WINDHOEK, 24 APR (NAMPA) – The Windhoek Motor Club in association with Big Boy Racing will host the second Namibian Motorsport Expo at the Tony Rust Racetrack on the outskirts of Windhoek from Thursday until Saturday.
The first Namibian Motorsport Expo was held at the same venue last year and saw vehicles from all different motorsport codes exhibited.
This year the organiser has promised a bigger and better event which will start Thursday night with a spin show that will feature spinners from South Africa, as well as Namibian tyre poppers.
Friday night there will be more spinning and the newly introduced one-eighth of a mile drag.
On the last day of the expo on Saturday, there will be 10 drifters comprising seven South Africans from Team F-Rix and three Namibians - Richard Slammet, Willie van der Merwe and Athie Mankonkwana.
They are expected to put up a show in the gymkhana and drift segment.
One of the event organisers, Rianca Fourie told Nampa throughout the three days of the expo there will be a motocross (MX) crew who will entertain the crowds with jumps.
“This is the biggest motorsport event of the year and credit should be given to our sponsors Engen Namibia, Tyre Rack and Coca Cola,” she said.
She added that car dealerships will also be joining the action by displaying their best rides for public viewing.
Tickets for the show are available at Pick n Pay stores or online at www.webtickets.com.na.
