WINDHOEK, 24 APR (NAMPA) – Namibia beat Canada by 98 runs in their third game of the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cricket League Division Two on Tuesday to move back to second position on the log standing.
The Namibian team put the disappointment of their dramatic two-run defeat to the United States of America (USA) on Sunday behind them with a crushing victory over winless Canada at the United Cricket Club Ground here.
The home team were put into bat and set up an intimidating score of 258 runs with six wickets which Canada failed to match as they bowed out with only 160 runs and nine wickets.
With that win Namibia are second on the log standing after three matches. They are levelled on four points with the USA who are third on the log.
The Namibian boys will now take on undefeated Oman who are top of the log with six points.
Oman will go to the match against Namibia on Wednesday with the goal of becoming the first team to secure the one-day international status and a spot in the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2.
