Super Eagle win Ruacana Annual Easter Tournament

RUACANA, 23 APR (NAMPA) – Super Eagle Football Club from Outapi are the overall winners of the 2019 Ruacana Annual Easter Tournament.
They defeated the Oshakati Social Club 1-0 in the finals of the football category on Monday, walking away with N.dollars 16 000 and a floating trophy.
Oshakati Social Club took home N.dollars 10 500.
Arsenal and Khomas Namibian Police Force (NamPol) shared the third prize of N.dollars 3 250 and bronze medals after the two teams declined to take each other on in the third position play-off of the same category.
Khomas NamPol also won the women’s football category, beating Valombola Vocational Training Centre from Ongwediva 3-0 in the final. They won N.dollars 8 000 and a floating trophy, while Omusati NamPol are the champions in the ‘Soccer Legend’ category, winning N.dollars 8 000 and a floating trophy. They defeated Helao Nafidi FC from Ohangwena Region 1-0 in the final.
The netball title, worth N.dollars 8 000, went to 21 Brigade of the Namibia Defence Force (NDF) that defeated the Omusati Regional Council team 21-19 in the final.
Other winners in their respective categories are Kill the Baggers (basketball) and NDF Sport Office (volleyball). Each of these teams received N.dollars 5 000 and floating trophies.
The tournament was held from Friday to Monday at the Ruacana sports grounds.
