MARIENTAL, 19 APR (NAMPA) – A 19-year-old man died on Wednesday in Maltahöhe, after he was stabbed with a knife on the left side of his chest.
Namibian Police Force crime investigations coordinator for the Hardap Region, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay told Nampa on Thursday the incident happened at about 21h30 in Maltahöhe’s Blikkiesdorp informal settlement.
“It is alleged that a 29-year-old suspect stabbed the deceased with a knife on the left side of the chest after an argument, and the deceased was rushed to the local health centre where he was declared dead on arrival,” Clay said.
Clay said according to information, the suspect started teasing the deceased after drinking alcohol and that is how the argument started that led to the stabbing.
The deceased was identified as Hans Alfred Topnaar and his next of kin are informed of his death.
The suspect was arrested and police investigation continues.
