RUNDU, 18 APR (NAMPA) – The man who was allegedly shot and killed by his employer at Andara village on Wednesday has been identified as Andreas Hausiku.
The 32-year-old Hausiku was a resident of Divundu settlement in the Kavango East Region.
The Namibian Police Force’s acting crime investigation coordinator for the region, Chief Inspector Melanie Mburu told Nampa on Thursday the suspect is a 31-year-old Chinese businessman and the police are looking for his accomplice, who is also a Chinese national.
Hausiku was a former employee of the suspect and it has emerged that he had gone to the business premises of the suspect at Andara to enquire about his final payment.
“According to information received from the investigating officers, the wage confrontation resulted in an altercation and the suspect was overpowered,” she said.
The suspect then allegedly called his accomplice from Divundu who reportedly showed up with the handgun used to shoot Hausiku. The suspect is in police custody at the Divundu Police Station and will appear in the Rundu Magistrate’s Court next Tuesday.
