WINDHOEK, 04 JAN (NAMPA) – Three armed men assaulted and robbed a shebeen owner in Windhoek’s Havana Informal settlement early Wednesday morning.
City Police Chief Abraham Kanime told reporters on Friday that the three unknown suspects entered a shebeen in Havana and ordered a beer from the owner.
As the shebeen owner reached out to get the beer, the suspects suddenly pulled out their guns, pointed the firearms at the owner of the bar and demanded the key to the jukebox in the shebeen.
They then stabbed the shebeen owner with a knife in the right leg before running off with juke box.
Police could not ascertain the amount of money which the suspects got away with in the stolen jukebox.
The victim was rushed to the Katutura State Hospital and is said to be in a stable condition.
No arrests have been made and police investigations continue
Kanime has warned shebeen owners to remove money from their jukeboxes as soon as possible, because most robbers are targeting shebeens with jukeboxes and jackpot machines.
