Teacher allegedly kills teacher wife

WINDHOEK, 15 APR (NAMPA) – A 38-year-old teacher was arrested on murder charges after he allegedly stabbed his wife on Friday at about 21h40 at their house in Okuryangava, Windhoek.
In an interview with Nampa on Monday, Namibian Police Force spokesperson Deputy Commissioner Edwin Kanguatjivi confirmed that the victim died at the Windhoek Central Hospital after the alleged stabbing.
“It is alleged that the suspect arrived home at night and had an argument with his wife, which resulted in the suspect inflicting severe stabbing to her abdomen,” he said.
She was rushed to Katutura Intermediate Hospital and later transferred to Windhoek Central Hospital where she died on Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Merentha Geingos, a teacher at A I Steenkamp Primary School in Windhoek while the suspect is a teacher at People’s Primary School.
He was expected to appear in the Katutura Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
