RUNDU, 14 APR (NAMPA) – A 24-year-old woman was raped at Calicao village in the Kavango West Region on Friday, the police have said.
Namibian Police crime investigations coordinator for Kavango West, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Mutonga told Nampa on Sunday the woman was allegedly raped by two men whose ages are not yet known.
Mbumba said the incident occurred around 21h00, when the suspects allegedly unlawfully and intentionally took the victim by force from a certain bar in the village.
“They then dragged her into the bush where they undressed her and both suspects had sexual intercourse with her without her consent.”
The suspects then allegedly threatened to kill her if she reported the incident to the police, after which they put sand in her mouth.
Both suspects are known to the victim and are still at large.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
