Eleven Arrows thrash Blue Waters in derby match

WALVIS BAY, 11 APR (NAMPA) - Walvis Bay-based Eleven Arrows thrashed rivals Blue Waters 3-1 during a MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL) derby match at the Kuisebmond Stadium on Wednesday.
Blue Waters were the first to do the attacking and were awarded a penalty as early as the 10th minute for a foul in the penalty box, which they failed to convert.
However five minutes later, Waters scored the first goal through Johannes Nambuli.
Both teams attacked each other, creating several scoring chances, with Waters looking to extend their lead, while Arrows pushed for the equaliser, but they could not convert the chances into goals, leaving the scoreline at 1-0 at half-time.
The second half was a different story as Arrows equalised within 10 minutes of the resumption of the second half through Anthony Kham.
Tangenii Kaiyamo then put Arrows in the lead in the 65th minute before Martin Shimaneni scored the winning goal late in the game.
With the victory, Arrows now move to 22 points on the log and are now sitting on position eight, with Waters currently in position 13 on the log on 16 points, two ahead of Civics and eight in front of bottom of the log team Orlando Pirates.
Eleven Arrows next play is against African Stars at Sam Nujoma Stadium in Windhoek on Friday, while Blue Waters will face Tigers at the same venue on Sunday.
