Several injured in accidents over the weekend

WINDHOEK, 08 APR (NAMPA) – Ten people were injured in accidents reported to the Namibian Police Force over the weekend.
On Saturday around 02h10, a 23-year-old man lost control over the vehicle he was driving and crashed into a pole at Ongwediva.
His three passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the Oshikoto State Hospital.
On the same day in Oshakati, two sedans were involved in a head-on collision around 12h45. A pedestrian who was busy crossing the road was injured and rushed to the Oshakati State Hospital in critical condition.
Both drivers survived the accident with minor injuries.
At Onambango village, along the main road between Ondangwa and Oshikango, the driver of a white Nissan pick-up lost control over his vehicle, which swerved off the road and overturned Saturday night.
According to the driver, who sustained serious injuries, he was attempting to avoid a head-on collision with an oncoming vehicle that was overtaking another vehicle.
The driver and one passenger were admitted to the hospital at Onandjokwe.
On Sunday, at Ongha, a Ford pick-up collided with a Toyota pick-up that allegedly drove across the road without considering oncoming traffic.
Three occupants of the Toyota were taken to Ongha Clinic with complaints of back pain.
Another passenger, a 93-year-old man, was left in critical condition.
