REHOBOTH, 08 APR (NAMPA) – Namibian boxer Walter ‘The Executioner’ Kautondokwa will now have to face a new opponent for his 20 April comeback after his original opponent withdrew a few days ago.
Kautondokwa was supposed to fight France Ramabolu from South Africa but will now face Jacob Maganga from Tanzania.
In a statement availed to Nampa Nestor Tobias, Kautondokwa’s trainer said the fight with Ramabolu was confirmed but that camp informed them that he is not ready and cannot fight Kautondokwa anymore.
“Our conclusion is that his camp got cold feet and that is why they pulled out of the fight, but we are glad to announce a new opponent who is experienced and ready to fight Kautondokwa,” Tobias said.
Maganga has a record of 26 fights with 12 wins, nine losses and five draws while Kautondokwa comes into this fight with only one loss.
Kautondokwa said he is a bit disappointed that he cannot fight Ramabolu anymore.
“I am ready for any opponent and starting my journey to winning ways again. I am feeling great, the camp has been good so far and we will get the job done on 20 April,” he said.
The fight is part of ‘The Legacy Part 2’ fight scheduled for the Windhoek Country Club, headlining Jeremiah ‘Low Key’ Nakathila in the main bout.
