Maltahöhe murder case postponed to Friday

REHOBOTH, 02 APR (NAMPA) - A 32-year-old man who allegedly stabbed his girlfriend to death on a farm in the Maltahöhe District on New Year’s Day, made his third appearance in court on Tuesday.
The accused, Frans Abraham, appeared before Magistrate Anna Marie Kruger in the Maltahöhe Magistrate’s Court on a charge of murder. His case was postponed to Friday for formal bail application.
It is alleged that Abraham stabbed Elizabeth Swartbooi, 31, in the stomach with a sharp object between 01h00 and 03h00 on 01 January at Farm Spesbona. She was then taken to the Mariental State Hospital, where she succumbed to her injury.
Abraham was denied bail as police investigations are still in the early stages.
He is being detained at the Maltahöhe Police Station holding cells.
