NDF and Revivals win Bank Windhoek Volleyball Doc tournament

WINDHOEK, 01 APR (NAMPA) – The Namibian Defence Force (NDF)’s A Team and Revivals emerged victors in men’s and women’s volleyball categories of the annual Bank Windhoek Volleyball Doctors (Doc) competition held in Swakopmund on Sunday.

The tournament, which saw 15 female volleyball teams and 18 male teams contesting for top honours, took place at the Dome.

In women’s category, Khomas NamPol from Central Volleyball Association (CVA) defeated Happy Du, also from CVA, 2 - 0 in the semi-final match.
In the second semi-final, CVA’s Revivals defeated Northern Volleyball Association’s Six Stars 2-0.

To be crown champions, Revivals then went on to defeated Khomas NamPol 3-0 in the final.

Happy Du took the third position after defeating Six Stars 2-0.

In men’s category, NDF’s A Team, also from CVA, overpowered their NamPower counterpart 2–1 in the first semi-final, while Kavango Volleyball Association’s Rundu UNAM Campus defeated Khomas NamPol 2-1 in the second semi-final.

NDF A team then won the final, defeating Rundu’s UNAM campus 3-1 to be crowned champions.

Nampower came third after they defeated Khomas Nampol via forfeit.

The winners in both the men and women’s categories walked away with N.dollars 5000, a trophy and14 gold medals.

The runners up pocketed N.dollars 3000 and 14 silver medals while the third place got N.dollars 2000 and 14 bronze medals.

Each fourth-placed team received N.dollars 1000.
