WINDHOEK, 01 APR (NAMPA) - Epukiro and Okotjituuo All Stars won the netball and football competitions hosted by the Namibia Rural Sport Development Federation (NRSDF) at Khomasdal Stadium in the capital on Sunday.
The N.dollars 42 000 tournament saw Aminuis, Okondjatu, Okotjituuo, Opuwo, Okavezemba, Otjombinde, Sesfontein, Eiseb, Otjimbingue, Otjinene, Ovitoto and Epukiro All Stars contesting for top honours.
In netball category, Epukiro defeated Okondjatu 32-2 in the first netball semi-final while Otjinene stunned Okavezemba 3622 in the second semi-final.
Epukiro went on to win the final, defeating their Otjinene counterparts 50-46 to scoop the N.dollars 6000 prize money, a trophy and 12 gold medals.
Otjinene received N.dollars 3000 as runners up, whereas Okavezemba and Okondjatu took home N.dollars 1500 as losing semi-finalists.
In the football category, Okotjituuo overcame Sesfontein 5-4 on penalties after 2-2 draw in the first semi-final.
In the second semi-final, Epukiro defeated Opuwo 2-1.
Okotjituuo then won the final, defeating Epukiro 4-2 to pocket the N.dollars 14 000 prize money, a trophy and 20 gold medals as final winners.
Epukiro took home N.dollars 8 000 and 20 silver medals as runners up while Opuwo and Sesfontein each took home N. dollars 4 000 as the losing semi-finalists.
