NBSL season kicks off

WINDHOEK, 01 MAR (NAMPA) – The Namibia Basketball School league (NBSL) kicked off its new season this past weekend, with Immanuel Shifidi’s under-19 (U19) boys team defeating their compatriots from St.George's Diocesan with a 85-40 score line.
Windhoek International School’s U19 boys also defeated Academia Secondary School by a 53 to 14 score line, while hosts DHPS’ Team B under-16 (U16) boys team recorded a narrow 38-36 victory over their compatriots from Concordia College.
In other results, Jakob Marengo’s U16 boys defeated Immanuel Shifidi 20:0, with DHPS’ U16 girls ousting Immanuel Shifidi’s U16 girls by the same margain, while Gammams Primary School’s U14 boys also defeated People’s Primary School 20:0.
A press statement issued by NBSL public relations officer, Jacobina Uushona, indicated that the league only consists of school teams from Windhoek and is played under different age groups ranging from U11 to U19.
League Director, Malakia Mathias said the league, now in its second season, has grown considerably with more teams and players taking part.
