Man allegedly commits suicide at Okahandja

OTJIWARONGO, 31 MAR (NAMPA) - A 34-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in the Five Rand informal settlement on the outskirts of Okahandja on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified by relatives as Timotheus Sakaria.
Spokesperson of the Namibian Police Force in the Otjozondjupa Region, Inspector Maureen Mbeha told Nampa on Sunday Sakaria’s body was found hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck by a passerby at around 19h40.
“It is still unknown to us why he took his own life as he did not leave behind a suicide note,” Mbeha said.
No foul play is suspected and an inquest docket has been opened at the Okahandja Police Station.
Police investigations continue.
