Geingob to visit mourning Ondonga Palace

ONGWEDIVA, 29 MAR (NAMPA) – President Hage Geingob is expected to arrive at Onamungundo Palace on Friday to pay tribute to the late Ondonga Traditional Authority (OTA) leader, Immanuel Kauluma Elifas.
This was revealed by the spokesperson of the royal family, Naeman Amalwa in an interview with Nampa on Friday.
Amalwa said Prime Minister Saara Kuugongelwa-Amadhila, Deputy Prime Minister Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, Speaker of the National Assembly, Peter Katjavivi and Chairperson of National Council, Margaret Mensah-William will accompany the Head of State.
The spokesperson further confirmed that according to a letter sent to the Ondonga Palace by Secretary to Cabinet, George Simataa, Elifas will be accorded a State Funeral.
Elifas, who was also chairperson of the Council of Traditional Leaders in Namibia since independence, died in the Onandjokwe Lutheran Hospital near Ondangwa in northern Namibia on Tuesday.
He served as supreme leader of the OTA since 1975.
Amalwa said further information regarding funeral arrangements will be communicated in due course.
