WINDHOEK, 26 MAR (NAMPA) – Popular Democratic Movement (PDM) President, McHenry Venaani on Tuesday paid his tribute to the late Ondonga Traditional Authority (OTA) leader, Immanuel Kauluma Elifas, who died on Tuesday aged 86.
In a media statement availed to Nampa on Tuesday, Venaani described Kauluma as the “symbol of Namibia’s greatness” as he joins the group of particularly respected Namibians who struggled and triumphed amid immense challenges.
He said Kauluma was a true leader in society, who valued humanity and was instrumental before and after independence in terms of caring for and nurturing his people.
“He did not only care for those from his authority but also those in nearby regions as well,” the leader of the official opposition said.
Venaani added that Kauluma will remain in the hearts of many Namibians, after leading the OTA for 44 years.
“The PDM wishes the royal family and his loved ones God’s comfort and strength during this difficult time. The reaction to his passing is a testament to what he meant to so many, and PDM acknowledges his immense contributions. May his soul rest in eternal peace,” said Venaani.
