Man hit by truck in Rehoboth identified

REHOBOTH, 25 MAR (NAMPA) – The 28-year-old man who died after being hit by a truck on the B1 road in Rehoboth on Friday, has been identified as Edwill Julio De Vos.
The Namibian Police Force’s crime investigation coordinator for the Hardap Region, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay told Nampa on Sunday the accident occurred near the Echo Service Station around 20h30.
De Vos allegedly ran out suddenly in front of a truck headed north of Rehoboth.
“He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to St Mary’s Hospital in critical condition, but succumbed to his injuries,” Clay said.
His next of kin have been informed.
The driver of the truck was not arrested, but police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
