Rehoboth man dies after being hit by a truck

REHOBOTH, 24 MAR (NAMPA) – A 28-year-old man succumbed to his injuries after he was hit by a truck on Friday, on the B1 national road in Rehoboth.
The Namibian Police Force’s crime investigation coordinator for the Hardap Region, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay informed Nampa on Sunday that the accident occurred nearby Echo Service Station at around 20h30 on the B1 main road.
“It is alleged that the driver of Anderson Transport was travelling north of Rehoboth when a pedestrian suddenly ran in front of the truck and was bumped,” he explained.
The victim, Clay said, sustained serious injuries and was rushed to the St. Mary’s Hospital in a critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.
His next of kin has not yet been informed.
The driver of the truck was not arrested, but police are investigating a case of culpable homicide, he concluded.
