REHOBOTH, 23 MAR (NAMPA) – A 35-year-old man died on Thursday after the car he was driving left the road and overturned several times on the Helmeringhausen-Gibeon gravel road.
The Namibian Police Force’s crime investigation coordinator for the Hardap Region, Deputy Commissioner Eric Clay told Nampa Friday the accident occurred approximately 23 kilometres from Gibeon on the D1088 gravel road around 11h55.
“It is alleged that the driver of a white Nissan NP200 pick-up with Windhoek registration lost control of the vehicle and it left the road and overturned,” Clay said
The driver, identified as Eugene Moritz Kohlmann, was alone in the vehicle. He succumbed to his injuries on the scene.
His next of kin have been informed of his death and police investigations continue.
In an unrelated incident in Rehoboth on Thursday, a 19-year-old is believed to have committed suicide behind the scrap yard in Block E.
The body of Levi Lamberth was found hanging from a tree with a rope around his neck around 09h30.
Clay said Lamberth allegedly burned down his aunt’s house the previous night and ran away.
His family has been looking for him.
