23 Christmas babies at WCH and Katutura hospital

WINDHOEK, 26 December 2013 - Twenty-three babies in total were born on Christmas Day at the two state hospitals in the capital – the Windhoek Central Hospital and the Katutura Intermediate Hospital.
The Windhoek Central Hospital recorded six births of four boys and two girls, while the Katutura hospital recorded 17 births in total - eight girls and nine boys, two by caesarean section.
The first birth, of a baby boy, was recorded at 00h00 at the Katutura Intermediate Hospital. The baby, born to mother Zalda Hambira, weighs 3, 555 kg.
The first baby delivered on Christmas Day at the Windhoek Central Hospital, a boy, was born at 10h45 to his mother Jaqueline Tjikotoke from Otjinene in the Omaheke Region.
No premature births were recorded this year at the two state hospitals.
