WINDHOEK, 19 MAR (NAMPA) Multichoice Talent Factory (MTF) on Tuesday launched an online digital networking portal aimed at connecting Africas creative industries.
The interactive portal is designed to profile and connect Africas industry creatives, bringing pan-Africa talent and opportunities together in one place, a statement issued on Tuesday said.
This digital portal will allow filmmakers across the continent to network, find talent and showcase their work.
Users of the portal, up-and-coming talent and industry professionals can also network with each other, connect and collaborate.
The establishment of the portal is the next step for the industry, MTF Academy Southern Africa Director, Berry Lwando was quoted as saying in the statement.
Our progression as African storytellers has been so rapid over the years that the timing couldnt be more perfect for its establishment, he said.
Lwando explained that the industrys professionals have always been able to connect with one another, but not as ideally as the industry has demanded.
He said with the portal they can now seamlessly access talent and knowledge.
It is an incredible time to be working in creative African film and television, he said.
Echoing Lwando was Multichoice Talent Factory Director Cheryl Uys-Allie, who said the portal is made for mobile and is therefore accessible to any filmmaker in the world.
With increasing cross-continental coverage filmmakers are looking for networks beyond their own borders. For a producer in Nigeria it is exciting to know it is possible to co-produce in Angola, for example, with access to local talent and production partners, she said.
Access to the portal is through registration on the MTF official website (www.multichoicetalentfactory.com) which will serve as an authoritative source of industry news.
