KALKFELD, 14 MAR (NAMPA) – Tinned fish donated by Erongo Marine to the Office of the Otjozondjupa Regional Governor was on Wednesday handed over to people living with disabilities at Kalkfeld.
Otjozondjupa Governor Otto Ipinge handed the 240 tins of fish over to the 56 beneficiaries.
He was accompanied by Chairperson of the Otjozondjupa Regional Council, Julius Neumbo and his Special Advisor John Khamuseb.
The governor said tinned fish worth N.dollars 50 000 was donated to his office last year by Erongo Marine and some of it has already been distributed in the Tsumkwe and Okakarara constituencies.
“My office and that of your constituency councillor (Neumbo) discussed where to distribute the portion of the Otjiwarongo Constituency, and you were identified,” Ipinge said.
His office also donated N.dollars 5 000 to Kalkfeld resident Fabiola Nunxas, who cares for five of her relatives who live with disabilities.
Ipinge said the money donated to Nunxas will boost her fat cake business, which would in turn help with the care of her relatives whose care she has devoted her life to.
Nunxas thanked Ipinge for the donation.
“It requires commitment to care for people with disabilities since the degrees of their challenges are not the same,” she said.
