WINDHOEK, 13 MAR (NAMPA) Current World Boxing Organization (WBO) Junior Lightweight champion, Jeremiah Low Key Nakathila, will face Zoltan Kovacs from Hungary on the 20th April at Windhoek Country Club for the WBO Junior Lightweight Global Title.
The MTC Sunshine Boxing and Fitness Academys promoter, Nestor Tobias, announced this in the capital on Wednesday.
Tobias said the fight will help Nakathila to improve his world record to be number two or one as he is currently ranked number three by the WBO.
The promoter added that he would like Nakathila to be the mandatory challenger for the world title but that the WBO Junior Lightweight Global Title is also prestigious like any other title in the top four ranked boxing organisations.
Nakathila has 18 fights under his belt, with 17 victories and 1 loss, while his advisory has fought 29 times, winning 23, losing five and drawing one.
The boxer, speaking at the same event, said he does not know much about his opponent as he has only watched a few videos of his on Youtube.
The undercard on the night will also feature Walter Kautondokwa, who will face South African France Ramabolu in a 10 round International Middleweight bout.
Mikka Shonena will fight against Shadrack Ignas from Tanzania for the WBO Africa Welterweight title, while Harry Simon Jr will contest for the Junior Welterweight National Title against Andreas Nghinaunye in a 10 round bout.
