Andreas Mwoombola resigns from OPM

WINDHOEK, 12 MAR (NAMPA) – Executive Director in the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM), Andreas Mwoombola who also previously served as the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Social Services (MoHSS), has resigned from his position and his last working day was 28 February 2019.

Mwoombola’s resignation was confirmed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology on Tuesday, which did not provide reasons for his resignation.

The statement further indicated that the OPM has instituted a disciplinary case against Mwoombola, which has not yet been completed.

“The said disciplinary case emanated from allegations of fraud and corruption at the MoHSS, where he previously served before he was transferred to the OPM in 2018,” the statement said.

It further added that the disciplinary proceedings took place on the 12 September 2017, 25 September 2017, 26 September 2017, 09 October 2017, 13 November 2017 and 15 November 2017 and were handled by a disciplinary committee.

The committee comprises of Shivute Indongo, Rector Fenyeho, Ono Nangolo, Ingrid Husselmann and Ellie Ndungula.
