WINDHOEK, 08 MAR (NAMPA) – The Ministry of Education, Arts And Culture in its efforts to improve the status of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Namibia, on Thursday launched the Kopano online education forum.
Speaking during the launch, education minister, Katrina Hanse-Himarwa said this forum is a customised ICT resource aimed at providing learning materials, equipment and capacity development for educators.
Kopano serves as a support system essential for educational innovation, inspiration and new ideas among education stakeholders. It was created to offer a dynamic platform for collaboration, information and experience sharing.
“The platform is a coaching and mentoring tool to support teachers and educators at large and is also aimed at reinforcing knowledge-sharing and networking among teachers, curriculum developers, policy-makers and other stakeholders in education,” Hanse-Himarwa said.
She added that the forum will be widely accessible to users as it does not require internet access.
