Geingob invited to US-Africa Business Summit

WINDHOEK, 07 MAR (NAMPA) - Mozambique's President, Filipe Jacinto Nyusi has invited President Hage Geingob, who is also Chairperson of the Southern African Development Community (SADC), to the 12th US-Africa Business Summit taking place in Maputo from 18 to 21 June.
A media statement issued on Thursday by Press Secretary in the Office of the Presidency, Alfredo Hengari, said Mozambique's Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security, Victoria Dias Diogo, conveyed the letter of invitation to the Namibian Head of State as Chairperson of SADC at State House.
The United States-Africa Business Summit is organised jointly by the government of Mozambique and the US-based Corporate Council in Africa.
The 2019 summit will be held under the theme 'Advancing a resilient and sustainable US-Africa partnership' and is designed to facilitate and elevate trade and investment between the US and Africa, said Hengari.
He added that the summit will bring together more than 1 000 American and African private sector executives, international investors, senior government officials, among others.
Geingob thanked the special envoy for delivering the letter and spoke of the excellent bilateral relations between Namibia and Mozambique, Hengari said.
