WINDHOEK, 13 FEB (NAMPA) The second round of the Namibia Rural Sport Development Federation (NRSDF) Cup, which started last weekend, will continue this weekend in the capital, with games starting Friday and ending on Sunday.
In an interview with Nampa on Wednesday, one of the competitions organisers, Ngatuuane Hange said the football matches will start at 18h00, with Otjombinde-based Omuramba locking horns with Okaoveni from Otjinene.
The second game will see Boffing from Oruuua coming up against Epukiro-based Otjimanangombe, before Okombomi-based Renamo Bucks play Kwasa-Kwasa from Okondjatu.
In the last match of the evening, Otjimati from Epukiro will play Otjinene-based Orunarongue.
On Saturday, Ekuenje from Okondjatu and Lucitano from Ozondati will lock horns in the first encounter, followed by a clash between two Otjinene-based teams, Okazapamba and Okauua Rovers.
Aminuis-based River Stars will await the winner between Omuramba and Okaoveni.
In the first netball match Okumu-based Fire Eyes will play Otjeue City from Aminius, while Orunarongue ladies from Otjinene are up against Manokile from Otjinoko in the second match.
Among other matches, Ozombovire will play Tembisa-based Eastern Swallows and the winner of that match will face Otjinene-based Okaoveni in the first quarter final, with the latter qualifying for this stage of the competition last weekend.
Otjombinde-based Young Stars are the current champions of the football competition after defeating Eastern Swallows from Epukiro in Gobabis last year.
The NRSDF was established in 2000. It develops and promotes sports in rural areas and has a membership of 21 rural sports associations from the Otjozondjupa, Kunene, Hardap, Erongo and Omaheke Regions.
